Teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic dental treatment that helps lighten the shade of your teeth and reduce discolouration caused by everyday stains. Professional whitening can help you achieve a brighter smile, with treatment tailored to your teeth and individual needs.

Boutique Whitening

At College Road Dental Practice, we offer Boutique Whitening, a professional teeth-whitening system designed to fit around your lifestyle. With custom-made whitening trays and a choice of daytime or overnight treatment, you can work towards a brighter smile from the comfort of your own home, following your dentist’s instructions.

You can choose from two options, depending on your preference and the product prescribed:

Boutique By Day

Designed for daytime use, with a short daily wearing time as advised by your dentist.

Boutique By Night

Designed to be worn overnight, allowing you to whiten your teeth while you sleep, where appropriate for the product prescribed.

Results and treatment times vary depending on your starting tooth shade, the type of discolouration and how your teeth respond to whitening.

How Does Boutique Whitening Work?

Boutique Whitening uses a professional whitening gel that works to lighten the natural colour of your teeth. The active ingredient penetrates the tooth enamel and helps break down discolouration, gradually creating a brighter appearance.

The system includes features designed to support the whitening process and patient comfort, such as formulations intended to help manage sensitivity. However, some people may experience temporary tooth sensitivity or gum irritation during treatment.

What Are the Benefits of Boutique Whitening?

  • A personalised fit: Custom-made trays are designed to fit your teeth.

  • Flexible treatment options: Choose a daytime or overnight approach, depending on the prescribed system.

  • Convenient home treatment: Whiten your teeth at home under your dentist’s guidance.

  • Gradual, adjustable results: Your dentist can advise on the expected shade change and appropriate treatment duration.

Is Teeth Whitening Right for Me?

Before starting treatment, your dentist will assess your teeth and gums to check that whitening is suitable for you. Existing dental problems, such as tooth decay or gum disease, may need to be treated first.

Teeth whitening does not change the colour of crowns, veneers or fillings, so these may look different from your natural teeth after treatment. Your dentist can explain what results you can realistically expect and help you choose the most appropriate option.

ICON Spot Treatment

How does it work?

Firstly, an ICON gel is applied to the tooth to open up pores, to enable the penetration of the resin. ICON infiltrant resin is then applied and light-cured. This blocks acid, helping to preserve the tooth from additional decay. Finally, this is removed to give you instant and amazing results.
